- You ask Victoria about the Shadow Knight's hostages.
Victoria
- "The Shadow Knight has taken the Church Scholar, but that's not all. He also kidnapped the Town Mayor and one other resident of Tomitsa. We don't know what his agenda is, but we're gonna find out."
- "There must be a connection between the hostages. <Envoy>, I'd like you to get some information from the townsfolk. See if you can get some clues to determine where the Shadow Knight could've taken the kidnapped folks."

- "Did you gather any information? The clock is ticking now; we can't waste any time."
Talking to Miner[]
Envoy
- You ask the miner in front of you about the kidnapped Town Mayor, Mason.
Miner
- "I don't know who the Shadow Knight is or where he came from. The people from the investigation unit say they're here to help, but they ain't tellin' us squat!"
- "I only know that Mason, our Town Mayor, knows the mine like the back o' his hand."
- "Just by looking at the grain of the stones inside the mine, Mason can figure out where the minerals are."

- You ask the girl standing in front of you about the kidnapped townsfolk.
Bonita
- "Harvey, an elderly gentleman who was captured, is the father of Bobby, my fiancee." Bonita seems to choose her words carefully. Her hands shake slightly.
- "When Bobby was small, Harvey brought him to this town and settled down. Harvey is just an average, hard-working man. I don't understand why the Shadow Knight would have chosen him."

- You nod, hoping to have a chat with Bobby.
Bonita
- "Well, this is probably not the best time to talk to him. After all, his father was just kidnapped. He may need some space right now."

Envoy
- You explain to Victoria what you learned from the townsfolk. The Town Mayor knows the mine best, but the other person who was kidnapped seems to have no connection to the situation.
Victoria
- "The Shadow Knight likely intended to take advantage of the Town Mayor's knowledge of the mineral veins; he's trying to find the Cube of Gaia buried within the Demarech Mines."
- "But why take Harvey? It doesn't add up." Victoria furrows her brow.
Envoy
- Among all the people who were taken, the old man seemed like the most unlikely victim. What did he have that the Shadow Knight wanted?
Victoria
- "I agree. He must not be who he seems."
- "Regardless, they're in great danger now. I fear the Shadow Knight might do something terrible to them."
